Can a product catalog also showcase a brand’s personality?
Two construction guidebooks are displayed—one closed, showcasing the cover titled Your Guide to Gettin’ It Done, and one open to a product list and EIFS/stucco solutions, highlighting essential tools for marketing and advertising your build.

The Challenge

Develop a catalog that’s not only a resource for product information and sales but also helps to build the brand.

Wind-lock prides itself on being a relationship organization rather than a transactional one. Being a distributor for both national brands and private-label products, Wind-lock needed a catalog that would not only list their various products but also show their brand’s personality — fun, professional, and resourceful.

Wind-lock liked the idea so much that they asked us to carry the same idea through to their new line of drywall tools.

Our Solution

Alpha Dog Advertising developed a design that was fun and engaging and stood out from the multitude of catalogs Wind-lock’s customers receive each year. Keeping in mind Wind-lock’s reputation for being experts on how to use the products they offer so their customers can be more effective on the job, we created a design emulating a weathered journal carried by a professional for many years. By referring to it as a “guide” instead of a “catalog,” we set the perception of it as more than just a traditional listing of products.

It had the look, feel, and information needed to be considered a true resource, one customers would want to keep handy, not just stash in a three-ring binder on a shelf. Wind-lock liked the idea so much that they asked us to carry the same idea through to their new line of drywall tools.

A catalog with the cover reading DRYWALL TOOLS. WHAT YOU NEED. WHEN YOU NEED IT.—an effective marketing tool with open pages showing product lists and images of sandpaper, sponges, and other drywall supplies for smart advertising.
